Baisakhi Saha: The Conscious Wanderer

International speaker, Evolutionary author, Globetrotter

What are you most passionate about and what drives you?

My work involves advancing consciousness on the planet. What does that entail? Well, it is about breaking the boundaries of our perceptions so we can recreate our realities in the direction of our desires. It is about expanding the horizon of our consciousness, transcending the limits posed by dysfunctional belief systems of diverse societies, and shattering the inner glass ceiling that prevents us from reaching our highest potential. Through my work, my art, books, talks, travels, performances, I strive to expand human awareness on life and living, death and dying, and all things in between esoteric and exoteric. This is my passion and life purpose.

What have been your personal challenges and how have they defined you?

Personally my biggest challenge has been finding, or rather crafting my unique life path and the belief systems I had to overcome on the way. Coming from a conservative family background in India, I had to challenge my limiting beliefs that were inculcated in me through society, culture, religion, traditions, etc. and learn how to grow my own wings to fly in the direction of my dreams. The wisdom and insights that came to me on my life path were a direct result of the turbulent experiences I had to go through owing to my personal beliefs. By following my inner guidance, I have developed key skills over the years, like body intuition that keeps me disease-free, instincts that keep me safe, life intelligence, a sense of self-trust that no matter what may come I can rely on me, and created for myself a world without strangers. Through my work and travels, I have had the opportunity to positively impact thousands of lives across the globe.

How have professional networks empowered you?

The one network that has impacted my life immensely is AIESEC, the world’s largest youth-run organization that enables youths from all over the world to go on exchange programs and work in foreign countries; it operates with universities globally established in over 127 countries. Through my travels with this network, I have grown as a person, evolved multifold, and transformed into an evolutionary author, international speaker, performer, teacher and globetrotter, from a computing graduate.

Who are your role models and why?

An avid reader all my life, my biggest role models have been authors whose books changed the way I perceived life and helped me cultivate a deep faith in the larger Universe, so I could summon the courage to walk my path, to live freely, fully and fearlessly. While traversing some of the most dangerous countries in the world alone, I felt absolutely safe and protected in this big big world of crime and peril, never fearing death. Some of those authors whose works encouraged me to undertake this grand voyage of the heart are Neale Donald Walsch, Paulo Coelho, James Redfield, Dr. Brian Weiss, Dr. Elizabeth Kübler Ross, Dr. Raymond Moody, etc. And after all these years of soulful adventures, the avid reader has now started writing her own books, transcending consciousness through her evolutionary work, while overcoming her own obstacles to walk this untrodden path.

What does Work-Life Balance mean to you?

When I am working, I never feel like I am working. My work is my life and my life is my work. I work when I sleep, in my dreams, when I go for my long marathon runs, when I am in the shower, when I am cooking a delicious meal, when I am eating or resting. Because my work requires inspired ideas and creativity, which often come to me when I am precisely not trying to work, and just immersed in the present moment. To me this is a form of living meditation. I live, breathe, dream, sleep what I do, it’s so fun and creative.

How would you like the community at SHEconomy to help you?

I am very proud of SHEconomy and all that it is doing to empower women economically as well as emotionally. I would love to continue my association with SHEconomy and would be honored when it helps me spread my evolutionary work among its community of women worldwide striving towards a common goal of economic empowerment. I am just setting up my shop at SHEconomy, and hope to share my work with its community. And I seek the cooperation and collaboration of this community to advance my ideas and create more awareness towards conscious living.

What would you like to share with the SHEconomy community?

My life’s work and the rich insights I have gathered through my travels across the globe. From Asia to Europe to Africa to South America to North & Central America, I have lived with local families, eating their food, adopting their lifestyles, contributing to their economy, inhabiting their culture, imitating their costumes, negotiating extreme realities and belief systems, navigating varied traditions and religions whence beliefs are formed, scanning the energy of each country I lived for several years to find answers to life’s most pertinent questions. My upcoming book, Life is Abracadabra -21 magical stories from my travels across the globe that will make you look at life with new eyes, is an experiential documentation of how to transcend the ordinary into extraordinary outcomes in alignment with our desires, a compilation of true anecdotes of hope and faith, of meaningful coincidences and miracles.  I have a holistic understanding of life and health, culture and belief systems, the law of attraction and the pitfalls of manifestation, light and shadow aspects of our consciousness, what causes illnesses and how to keep them at bay, why positive thinking doesn’t always work and what does, energy and matter, death and the afterlife, time and space, synchronicity and destiny, dreams and parallel realities, etc. and I lecture on a wide range of topics spanning these themes. I have delivered several TEDx and WEF talks internationally that can be viewed on my website.
